Can I take ActiveMg while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Our medical advisers who helped us design and formulate the product indicate that
ActiveMg is completely safe for women trying to conceive, or during pregnancy and
breastfeeding, but the medical fraternity is somewhat split on the issue of taking
supplements during pregnancy and it often comes down to the personal opinion of
an individual doctor.

Medically speaking they are safe to take, but our recommendation is that you discuss
it with your GP as this is often a very personal decision and both patient and doctor
should be in alignment on the thinking behind it.

The only ingredients in the product are Magnesium, Zinc, Vitamins B3 & B6, Vitamin
B9 (as Folinic Acid), B12, Cramp Bark and Passionflower. A combination of vitamins,
mineral and plant extracts, so there is nothing in there that can cause harm, but it’s
always best to get a second opinion.

Magnesium is an essential mineral for optimal metabolic function, but research has
shown that the mineral content of magnesium in food sources is declining, and that
magnesium depletion has been detected in persons with some chronic diseases.
Clinical studies show that a single daily dose of between 300 and 600mg of
Magnesium significantly reduces migraine attacks. Magnesium on its own is poorly
bio-available and this has led to an increased awareness of proper magnesium intake
and its potential therapeutic role in a number of medical conditions.

ActiveMg contains Magnesium Acid Chelate, Magnesium Orotate and Magnesium
Citrate providing a total 100mg of elemental Magnesium per capsule. When taking
the full daily dose of 3 capsules per day, you are getting 300 mg of elemental
Magnesium per day. But most importantly you are getting full absorption of the
Magnesium due to the blending process in ActiveMg, which utilises B Group Vitamins
to improve absorption up to 4 times over standard oral forms of Magnesium.

In addition to the Magnesium, which relaxes soft muscle tissue and improves blood
flow to the brain, ActiveMg utilises PassionFlower, and Folinic Acid to assist in
countering stress and anxiety which is often associated with severe Migraine.
